Rug Samples made by skilled weaver - Lallu

Collaboration between Obeetee’s artisans as designers gives a creative voice to highly skilled weavers. Two rug samples were developed with Lallu, an artisan at Obeetee. The design guidelines given to Lallu were images of textiles and landscapes found in Mirzapur within a single color palette. A third sample was woven based on his own daily observations and memories. This exercise demonstrates that with a creative and motivated weaver, a collection of unique rugs could be developed that is made and designed by artists for the market.
